How do I Join or renew my membership at  RHF ?

 You can Renew or join RHF by completing an application and paying an annual due of 15.00.

Where can I find an application & instructions?

You can fill out an online application or renew your membership here RHF Membership Application.  Follow the directions for online or mail in subscription.

Why does RHF require membership?

Our legal structure requires membership. The board of directors is elected by and is responsible to the membership. We have only one class of membership and all members are voting members.

What is the purpose of  Redbone Heritage Foundation?

The Redbone Heritage Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization chartered in the state of Louisiana.

The purpose of The Redbone Heritage Foundation, Inc, is to foster research into the origins, the history, the culture, and the ethnicity of those people known as Redbones.  Members will be encouraged to conduct such research in a scientific manner without prejudice or predetermined conclusions.  Material pertaining to these people will be preserved, published, and made available to other researchers.
 
The corporation is governed by a Board of Directors, a set of By-Laws and a manual of Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.

Is the RHF tax exempt?
Not yet. It is a 501 c 3 organization, which means it is eligible, but the IRS has not ruled on our application.

How Can I help or volunteer?

Yes, we need help in the following areas:

  • Grant writing
  • Fund raising
  • Membership recruitment
  • Publicity
  • Committee assignments

You may volunteer by contacting the President and offering your services. Please indicate the areas of greatest interest to you and any special skills you may have.
